I thought maybe we could start a new challenge and write poetry to describe religion and all its parameters.
why not write a piece of poetry of your favourite bible character/story or just take a religious theme as a starting point.
It might good fun to read and should shed new lights onto religious themes we are not aware of, educational is a word I am looking for!!

I might start with my first one entitled GOD.
here are three short ones to start with:

GOD

Goals
Of
Devotions

give not to thee
or even thy
diversify to be as one

golden waves
on higher rays
divine is may

For it is substance of things hoped for
And evidence of things unseen
It picks you up when you are falling
Through it all, the open door
His love-light gleams

This is about a Zoroastrian story of the afterlife.

The person who has died has to try to walk to the House of Song (Heaven) across a bridge. However, the bridge may become so narrow depending on the person's deeds that the person falls into the House of Lies (Hell) where the souls wait until the last judgement. At that time they will be annihilated in a molten flow of metal coming from the mountains and only the House of Song will remain.

House of Song, House of Lies

The angel meets you on the way.
The House of Song delights your ear.
Just cross the bridge and then you may
Rejoice in what you long to hear.
The angel looks upon your face
And seems to know what's hid inside:
Those very deeds that you'd erase,
As well as those you'd show with pride.

Beneath the bridge, the House of Lies
Has demons eager for your fall.
They hope, on crossing, they'll hear cries
As one more comes to join them all.
The demons say, "It's peace you need.
Jump in and rid your soul from hate.
We guard the Lord's most ancient creed.
Do what is right. Don't hesitate."

The angel floats, but you must walk.
Without a word, you know she's kind,
And though it doesn't help to talk,
You speak, since you fear what you'll find,
"Oh, God, if You would hear me now,
Forgive me for the things I've done."
The angel smiles, but this is how
You walk, as your new life's begun.

Primal dancing beneath the moon before firelight,
awareness of the animal soul which beats inside,
glory to the goddess, Earth Mother, creator of us all,
awaken to the spirits abound which dwell in all forms of life,
new beginnings found within death, have no fear, the balance is everything.

Chivalrous he who rode across the land
Honourable in his suit of arms
Righteous are his manners of self
Incredible is his titled name
Solemly he'd declared his faith
To be the grace and ways above all else

veiled between
truth and lies.

Oracle disguise
clandestine
slight of hand

Judged at the cross
Everyone witnessed.
Sacrificed blood
Until the third day.
Sinners redeemed.
