It seems that people are reading this book with a false impression. The book was great since it did delt with the complex issue of assuming characters before getting to know them. I am sure we have all done that where we make an assumption about a character without truely getting to know them. The second issue I would like to raise is that this book was writen in the 1800s when women had virtually no rights so the book is sexiest for our day and age - Jane Austen new no other way for women to live except how they lived during her period of time - where they do their hair and play with doles.
