I know it's a darn borking book: or, at least it seems that way. "Nothing" happens for the first 400 pages. I dunno, it's all a matter of perception, I guess. It's definately NOT meant to be an action-adventure story. It's meant to be a sort of coming-of-age/romance/intricacies-of-British-heirarchy story. I personally don't think it's "boring". I still don't like it, but I'm at least INTERESTED. I'm interested enough in that Pip just ticks me off, and I want to read more about Joe and the other endearing characters. <br><br>My advice: KEEP READING. It gets good at the page 400 mark. I highly suggest you suffer yourself through the "boring" first section of the book...it gets better! I promise! Pip has his life threatened, Joe comes back, there's daring escapes, fires, marriages, all the action you could want.
