I admit, at first, the book moved along rather slowly. Nothing exciting happened, even though the convict in the beginning proves to be a key figure later on. While at many times I felt as though I were wading through the words of Dickens, I found that for project and essay purposes, there is a lot to work with. Each character can be analyzed and dissected using specific quotes. There are visible and hidden themes as well as a good deal of symbols. While it wasn't a book I'd honestly choose to voluntarily read again, overall, it wasn't that bad.
