i'm in grade ten and i had to read this book for english class. at first i thought it was confusing and i thought that it would be boring but after i started reading it i realized what kind of message it was sending. pip was so intrigued with estella that he gave up everything that was important to him and changed his mind set just to be worthy of her. i was happy at the end that estella wanted to have a friendship with pip but i think that both versions of the ending work because i don't think that their "friendship" will last ~ they are just two very different yet similar people
