I thought we could start a fairy-tale, in iambic pentameter. Four lines each.

On Bardle’s Down a castle once did stand,
A merry keep, renowned in Kingdoms far.
And oft its banners would be hung about.
For feasting and rejoicing did abound.

Small James was outside tending to his sheep
Who loved the meadow in the castle's shade.
He had to lead them back before the night
Unleashed those demons stealing sheep away.

For though within the castle there was peace
without, the demons kept a hungry watch
And young ones, old ones, weak ones all alike,
were warned about the dangers lurking near.

As dusk approached, he moved the sheep along
The sun, however, fell rather than set
The light fled west faster than they would move
The lazy sheep cared not and felt no threat

James knew the rush of demons through the night.
He knew how they would tear apart their meat.
His father tried to kill them long ago,
But died becoming food for them to eat.

The demons lived above the forest land
Where mountains rise and stop the growth of trees
And from this chilly waste their screeching blows
Across the earth a deadly, hostile breeze.

When they attack, this frigid wind leads them
Life stiffens swiftly; there is no escape
Eyes frozen wide, you cannot look away
Nor can you draw a breath to cry for help

Some raced inside the castle when they heard
Those demons needing humans for their feasts.
The bridge was drawn just as their stench rushed near.
Those late to hide were gathered by the beasts.
