Hello,
I wonder if somebody can recommend a biography of James Joyce. Not long ago I remembered Joyce’s often quoted sentence about “silence, exile and cunning”; I’d like to read a book that explores the relationship between Joyce’s upbringing in Ireland and his reaction against it, both through his actions (“expatriation" is the obvious answer) and through his art. Any suggestions?
