I need help writing a short paper on Penelope of how she copes with the loss of Odysseus through her weaving.

I am assuming, based on the date of this posting that you finished your paper but I am curious to know what you ended up writing. I have always thought of Penelope's weaving as merely a ploy to buy her more time before she needed to make a decision as to which suitor she'd take as a husband. I had not thought of it as something she did for herself to cope with the loss. I can see how the solitude she'd enjoy while weaving would be very important when such rough and inhospitable folk are living in her house. I also know that keeping busy with a task that employs the hands and requires talent and skill can be great therapy (I use gardening for this purpose).

So, what did you end up saying in the paper? What prompted you to pick this topic?
