I have read this book repeatedly for years. I am an adult rereading it and watching the different movie versions of the story. I think the romance that blossomed between Laurie and Amy is svery romantic. He needed exactly what she was as an adult. He had settled and begun working for his Grandfather and had taken time to grow up. What he felt for Jo when he was younger was important at a time and had grown comfortable. When he matured, he was a different person.
