I have no idea what a protaganist is, but if you were looking for a like year period kind of thing, the book took place in the 1800's.

I am working on an english project for this book, but I don't know who the protagonist is (I think it is Jo) or who the antagonist is. Anyone know? Also- what time period does the story take place?
