You're comment matched my sentiments so closely that I had to reply. Crime and Punishment is one of my favorite books of all time simply because of the depth in the discussions between Raskolnikov and a number of other characters, mainly Zamyotov and Porfiry. I haven't read any other Dostoevsky stories, but I certainly intend to.

What can you say to a novel like this other than "WOW!!!!"? This novel is amazing, second only to Dostoevsky's The Brothers Karamazov. Reading through the arguments and debates between Raskolnikov and Porfiry all I could think was that I could keep reading these forever. The logic and thinking and ohilosophy involved was just incredible. I wish that Dostoevsky was taught in our school system, we could be taught so much more and have fun learning.
