Essays on motifs, symbolism, & themes in Hamlet. Shakespeare bio. TO BE OR NOT TO BE so like the king THAT was and IS THE QUESTION of these wars

...some necessary question of the play be then to be considered...

To be, or not to be: that is the question.

...for look, where my abridgement comes.

I think it be no other but e'en so:
Well may it sort that this portentous figure
Comes armed through our watch; so like the king
That was and is the question of these wars.

The "necessary question of the play." for Hamlet is "to be or not to be.." "...so like the king that was and is the question of these wars."

(Yes, this post is somewhat spamish, but I'm not selling anything - just trying to spread what I believe to be the long-buried truth about Hamlet. It's better than just leaving this group to die of stagnation. I'm linking to my website, but it's not selling anything and it doesn't even have ads or Amazon links. I have an earlier version of this called "Motifs in Hamlet" at academia.wikia.com but the administrators there have loaded my page down with a bunch of obtrusive ads. So now I'm paying about 5 bucks a month for my own domain: www.thyorisons.com.)

And now some keywords that are relevant to my website: Hamlet, Ophelia, Claudius, Gertrude, Polonius, Laertes, Fortinbras, Osriic, puns, word play, symbols, symbolism, motifs, themes, imagery, essay, close reading Shakespeare, Denmark, King James VI, Elizabeth I, Cardinal William Allen, Arden of Faversham, Christopher Marlowe, Ospringe, Blackfriars, Globe, Henry VIII, Breakspear, Falstaff, and backpack atomic bombs (huh? - read my website to to follow me thither with modesty enough, and likelihood to lead it).
