Absolutely excellent band, one of the greatest around at the moment I believe.

I like the idea of Radiohead better than Radiohead . . . if that makes any sense. I love that a relatively progressive act has broken through in the mainstream, but I just don't dig their sound.

The new album, the king of limbs, is pretty good. my favorites off it are "codex" and "lotus flower"

I adore Radiohead. I have nothing to add, though I really hope their recent At the Basement session is broadcast in Australia soon. Mutatis-Mutandi, I don't know what you listen to so I won't presume to tell you the flaw in your being that makes you dislike Thom and co (I know, I'm the most tolerant Radiohead fan of all time) but you should listen to some of their live stuff, including said At the Basement session, which I think has been taken off YouTube 100 times in the past week by the BBC. Watch a live performance of Idioteque or Paranoid Android or Just or Kid A or Fake Plastic Trees or The National Anthem or Weird Fishes or 2 + 2 = 5 or Sit Down Stand Up or Karma Police or Bones or Airbag or Climbing up the Walls or *breathes heavily...breathes heavily*

My friend used to say `We adore everyone except God in this weird world`. So am I. http://im-smiley.com/imgs/alien/alien005.gif (http://im-smiley.com) I'm subterranean homesick (green) Alien.

I'm planning to write an article about their OK Computers lyrics or maybe about fixed ideas of Thom Yorke. Let's see...

Awesome band. For me, OK Computer is their Magnum Opus. Although I do think that each album has its unique flavor; Kid A was a bridge for me to like elctronica/ambient/trip-hop music; The Bends just nails the classic 90's brit-rock sound; and etc.

I still expect much more from this band even if they've been around for 20 plus years.

favorite song: Karma Police

I've not listened to all of their output so far but they're really something individual and special. My favourite songs are 'There There' and 'Karma Police'.

Incredible band. They get better with every album. The best band in the world by a country mile.

Better than The Beatles?

Better than The Beatles?

Obviously to the poster. There's no point getting in to a discussion about who the best band in the world because it's all entirely subjective. And it'd be boring.

I agree to an extent. While I do dig their sound, I like the concept of Radiohead and their music better than the music itself.

It's sort of like if I'd never heard Radiohead but was aware of all the hype and then heard them, my reaction would be, "That's it?" which it still kind of is. I do like some of the new stuff I've heard, especially live. They were on The Colbert Report a few months ago and I was really surprised by how much I liked it.

The Beatles haven't been a band since 1970, plus half of them are dead.
Yeah, everyone loves the Beatles blah blah...the Beatles were a pop band, Radiohead are a far more evolved animal in terms of musicianship and what Yorke actually writes about, similiar to Joy Division, who IMO are the best band I ever listened to, although they only made two albums unfortunately.

Radiohead is just as much a pop band as the Beatles were. Both are/were commercially successful.

Radiohead's musicianship is nothing special, and their lyrics are clever if measured against the quality of most lyrics.

I really need to check out Joy Division. I've never really took the time to listen to the properly for some reason.

I really like the unplugged version of Creep. Fake Plastic Trees is a wonderful song.

By saying that you are marginalising your favourite band (Tool) who are the Radiohead of metal.

Radiohead's musicianship is of the utmost quality and it is marvellously demonstrated in their live performances. Radiohead are on of the best live acts around. However people struggle to believe that until they see them based on their style of music. They've mastered instruments from keyboards, piano and guitars to the glockenspiel, steel drum, synthesisers, accordion, viola and a variety of percussion.

Thom Yorke's vocals are exquisite and his songwriting is of a chrystalline beauty that of which Tool can only dream. :p

I've never seen them display any exceptional instrumental skill. This isn't really a criticism, just a fact.

And I wasn't saying being commercial made them bad. Someone else intimated that commercialism was a negative.

I do not get the Radiohead/Tool comparison at all. They have nothing in common.
