which are your favourite stories (or which is your favourite story) of Dubliners, by James Joyce?

I would have to say A painful case, The dead, Araby.

Most definitely "A Little Cloud" - very psychological, reflective, introspective, and harsh - precisely what made the Lost Generation what it seemed, and why James Joyce, in my opinion, seemed a part of it. :)

and also the movie. I think it was the last movie directed by John Huston before (obviously) his death.

A Little Cloud.

As he crossed Grattan Bridge he looked down the river towards the lower quays and pitied the poor stunted houses. They seemed to him a band of tramps, huddled together along the river-banks, their old coats covered with dust and soot, stupefied by the panorama of sunset and waiting for the first chill of night to bid them arise, shake themselves and begone.

My favorites:

Eveline, Grace, The Dead, A Mother

But I love them all!
