Imagine: A Vagabond Story by Grant Lingel was one of the most honest and exciting stories I have come across in ages.
The story is about a 22 year old New York suburbanite who decides to take off in pursuit of something new and exciting with only 7 credits to go before finishing his college degree.
He finds work at a beach resort and nightclub in Playa del Carmen, Mexico before heading off to Central America with 6 new friends he met in a hostel in their van.
He stays behind in Guatemala volunteering in different hostels while busing around the countryside and seeing amazing new things with new friends from around the world.
It is described as a memoir of 'sex, drugs and Salsa dancing' and is a must read for anyone who loves travel!
