Set in a summer on the French Riviera, Cecile and her father Raymond live the hedonistic life of the young and beautiful. But when her father chooses to marry, Cecile engineers a plan to get her free life of debauchery back, with tragic consequences.

This is a tiny book- at 108 pages, it's a novella-and an simple plot is elevated by the style of Sagan's prose, managing to evoke teenage willfulness and a life of luxury in France. It scandalised France when it was published in the 50's and still sounds modern today.

Especially recommended to anyone who enjoys any of Fitzgerald's works.

EDIT- Can I add a poll?
