View Full Version : Why did William Shakespeare make them tragedies?

Because a comedy does nothing. With a comedy, the story is already complete with a comedy. With a tragedy, it leaves the reader (Or watcher of plays) in the position to complete the story. They want to be the one to succeed where the hero failed.
At least this is my opinion.
