Hi,
I'm working on Stanley Fish's Interpreting the Variorum. In it, he takes on the interpretations made by many scholars of Milton's work. My professor mentioned that he completely neglects to talk about the fact that one could get killed for their interpretation of Milton.
Could anybody give me more info on these high stakes for interpreting Milton at a certain point in time? I'd be ever so grateful as I have 20 pg paper due this sunday....
