I have an assignment for a paper that compares and contrasts Edward in the 1995 movie and the 2008 TV version. I'm having problems comparing the three Edwards, since they all seemed the same to me. Can someone please help?

I know this answer is vastly overdo, but as I have a personal interest in the subject, I just thought I might put my thoughts down.

There are many similarities and differences between the two most famous portrayals of the literary character, Edward Ferrars, by Hugh Grant in the 1995 movie and Dan Stevens in the 2008 miniseries.

Similarities

1. Has a bond with the youngest Dashwood woman, Margaret, as well as Marianne and Mrs. Dashwood
2. Has the same time of relationship with his sister
3. Both show the ingrained sense of duty and honor
4. Both disdane society and prefer a 'quiet country parish'
5. Both show signs of being stolid and not emotionally attached to artistic pursuits, such as reading poetry

Differences

1. Dan's Edward is a bit more self-assured and charming, while Hugh is more awkward and shy
2. Edward is younger in the miniseries
3. In the miniseries, Edward seems more in touch with his feelings
4. In my opinion, Dan's Edward is much more handsome and personable
