Hi all, and thank you to everyone who suggested authors from the romantic period for my research paper.

Last week I chose EB Browning as the author to do my paper on, and I've been trying to find research material ever since.

I'm looking for maybe her published letters or good biographies. Any suggestions on books I might look into or websites with articles, etc? The college has an 8 story library that I will venture into this coming week. I've done searches on the web and Robert comes up a lot, but no Elizabeth.

Thanks for any help.

This one seems to be a good site about EB Browning:

Ah, one of my favorites!
I found Scheherazade's suggested website full of much information (I second her recommendation). This website also gives a decent summary: http://www.kirjasto.sci.fi/ebrownin.htm
If you also seek some of Elizabeth Barrett-Browning's works, I found all of the [I]Sonnets of the Portuguese here: http://www.everypoet.com/archive/poetry/Elizabeth_Barrett_Browning/elizabeth_browning_contents.htm
And this website also features much of her work: http://www.poemhunter.com/elizabeth-barrett-browning/poet-3035/
Good luck!

Elizabeth Barret Browning doesn' t come up when you search your college library?????? Hmmmmmmmmmmm.............VERY strange!

The poor thing (Elizabeth)wasn't really sick you know, it was just that her overbearing father drove her crazy. Women during that time period were considered sick/crazy/delusional/suffering from the vapours, etc, if they did anything other than cook clean, have babies. Her miraculous recovery in Paris after marrying her lover was no miracle, but instead a sudden onset of personal freedom.

.....and her husband rode her coattails to fame.......IMHO......

I agree with baddad that it is strange not to be able to find anything on EB Browning. Robert and Elizabeth Browning are one of the most talked about couples in literature :)
I have just done an amazon.com search and there is a flood of suggestions coming up (sometimes trying different words for search helps. Like 'Elizabeth Browning', 'Browning biography' etc):

Maybe you can go through this list and search for the ones you find interesting at your university library.
