After reading most of the later plays, the stream of consciousness that is Peer Gynt is a shock to the system. And the play seems so long.

On the weekend, ABC TV showed Peer Gynt - Heinz Spoerli - Zurich Ballet (http://www.networkdance.com/dance-ballet-videos/Peer-Gynt-Heinz-Spoerli-Zurich-Ballet/5673). I enjoyed this ballet version of the indulgent anarchy inherent in Ibsen's play accompanied, from time to time, by pleasant tones from contemporary Norwegian, Edvard Grieg.
