Thought i'd try and start up a little discussion here folks :) I came across this little gem in the "Great Loves" series that Waterstones seems to be advertising a lot these days, and I was very impressed! As a lover of Russian literature I am intrigued by the short novellas as well as the more famous novels of Turgenev, Tolstoy, Nabokov, Pushkin and Dostoevsky (Tolstoy's "The Kreutzer Sonata" is another great addition to this series). I found the story compelling, though perhaps a little predictable, and was put in mind of Nabokov's "Lolita" by its tone, and by Zinadia herself in certain aspects. I would definitely recommend it to others looking for something a little different, and to lovers of all things Russian lit :)
Any thoughts? X

What do you think caused the last argument between Zinaida and the father?
