I know it's contraversial to suggest anything Islamic at the moment (what with planes falling out of the sky and the current revivalist craze for a new Crusade) but I've been meaning to get hold of a translation of this book by the "Marco Polo of Islam" ever since I've heard of it's existence through a column Bruce Sterling did for SF Eye (find it at http://www.eff.org//Publications/Bruce_Sterling/Catscan_columns/catscan.07 if you have the time). I'm particularly keen to read some less Eurocentric lit, so anything along these lines would be most welcome and I think a worthy addition to the network.

I too would like to read a translation of Ibn Battuta's (sp?) travels. I have often seen references to his writing but never seen the book.
