Finding a lost short story

I remember reading a short story with two hunters (It's narrated in 1st person) and 2 birds and the love between the birds. I'd love to know the title...I've suddenly got this urge to read it again. Help...please? ;)

Isn't it strange how the simple titles are the most difficult to recall.

The story is entitled LOVE. It is in Volume One of DE Maupassants stories.:(
