TGG essay on modernism!!!

heyy!!! im new to this whole forum thing soooo help me out here lol:) i'm currently attempting to write an essay on how the great gatsby is an example of modernist literature... i need to show how it places emphasis on 'the individual' and how it has characteristics of modernist novels...!!!

First read the book, then read a book on modernism, then read a book about Fitzgerald's life, then read Lionel Trilling's essay "F. Scott Fitzgerald".
