For me it would be the soundtrack to "Mars Attacks!" and the beautiful Vivaldi-inspired music of the score to "Rushmore". So I guess my life is half Martian, half Max Fischer. You?

Probably "The Road Goes On" from "Lord of the Rings", if you consider it as a soundtrack too... :p

The road goes on ever on and on
Down from where it began
Now far ahead the road has gone
I must follow it if I can

Also, sometimes "Mad World", especially whenever I am in a gloomy mood:

All around me are familiar faces
Worn out places, worn out faces
Bright and early for their daily races
Going nowhere, going nowhere
And their tears are filling up their glasses
No expression, no expression
Hide my head I want to drown my sorrow
No tomorrow, no tomorrow
And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
'Cos I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
It's a very, very
Mad World
Children waiting for the day they feel good
Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday
Made to feel the way that every child should
Sit and listen, sit and listen
Went to school and I was very nervous
No one knew me, no one knew me
Hello teacher tell me what's my lesson
Look right through me, look right through me

I don't really think any movie soundtrack would fit me, but a Cinema Bizarre cd might.

edit!: THE MATRIX soundtrack!

Well, it might not be a movie, but Murray Gold's excellent soundtrack from Dr. Who certainly fits my life and moods...

"Send in the Clowns" came to my mind last night from "A Little Night Music"...not sure, except I was feeling terrible meloncholy, so it fit my mood. Of course, next week it might be another more upbeat musical or ST!

You are not alone, Janine. I'm feeling terribly nostalgic and a bit melancholy myself. That's why I chose "The Hours." The music is so melancholy.

Sorry to hear it for you, too. Mine is born out of my disappointment in not being able to see my grand-daughter this weekend. She's sick, with what may be a mild virus; but could just be teething. I haven't seen her in well over a month, so I got down-in-the-dumps about it; then terribly disappointed; that quickly went into a depression I guess; not normal for me. I was listening to Pandora radio last night and heard Michael Ball sing "Send in the Clowns" and I thought - well, there that's the story of my life. I just felt disheartened. I miss her so much.

Probably the HSM 3:Senior Year soundtrack, 'cause it's my senior year, too! I find that kind of odd that that movie came out during my senior year.

Absolutely! Great choice! Don't forget the other P.T. Anderson movie Punch-Drunk Love - Jon Brion's score rocks.

I'd also add The Royal Tenenbaums - Wicked awesome! Wes Anderson just has a way with his soundtracks.

Finally, the soundtrack to The Virgin Suicides. Amazing!

Pink Floyd's The Wall. Because I'm a rockstar with issues.

So that's probably my favourite, but the one that actually best fits my life has to be [I]Magnolia[/] as well. Even the Supertramp songs are unnervingly appropriate.
