hey all!
first let me assure i have read this book and enjoyed it alot more than i thought i would. it was assigned in my lit class so i started it dutifully but finished early willingly.
i need to write a lit. analysis paper and i enjoyed the scarlett letter so much that i thought i'd write about it however, i dont have alot of experience with writing literature analysis papers and especially when i'm not given a topic.
if anyone could help me come up with a topic or even help me brainstorm i'd be entirely grateful!

it must be entirely centered on the text no outside references to other works.

please help me
thank you!

I have multiple ideas:
1)Could Hester Prynne be considered a Heroine? Does Hawthorne want us to view her this way? Why does he choose to make her a heroine or not? Who, if not Hester is the hero of the story?

2)What is Hawthorne's Stance on women in society? What does he feel are the appropriate roles women should play? Does he give any approval of women in the novel?

I am doing a Literary Analysis of this book today, it is due tomorrow. Good Luck!
