What's the most comprehensive collection of Orwell's non-fiction, the 'Collected' four volume set or the Everyman's single volume collection?

I don't think it's possible to qualify one as the "best", because that's a bit subjective. All collections tend to have the ones perceived as more important in them, so just go for the most comprehensive one - the one with the most titles.

I am trying to get the most comprehensive. The Everyman's version has 250 essays but I don't know how many the Collected set has.

Gotcha. I have about 20 different compilations, none of them large.

250 sounds pretty good.
