Hi, this is my first time posting on these forums! yay. anyways, i have this assignment for english to comment on the biblical imagery in the beginning of the book and its effect. I've been looking forever but I cant find it. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Check on the continual pattern of three's that begins in Part I...several motifs occur from this, and if you are familiar with religion(s), then you will know that the number three is holy. You must look closely, but I believe the first is the shutters. Good luck...

ermm i dont know if it will help but on the nellie at the beginning, look at marlows posiiton, he is viewed as an idol, and seems to be positioned similarly to a buddha, this is coupled with a 'meditative' feeling among the men, he is describes like this directly a few pages in.

not sure if i have helped. points for trying please.
