THE PITY OF LOVE

A PITY beyond all telling
Is hid in the heart of love:
The folk who are buying and selling,
The clouds on their journey above,
The cold wet winds ever blowing,
And the shadowy hazel grove
Where mouse-grey waters are flowing,
Threaten the head that I love.

thats a beautiful little poem. Dont know how i've never read it before now! Very moving and full of emotion. what i get from it is that everything moves on, doesnt stay the same and changes just as time changes everything. he feels pity for love because it too can chance and he fears that that may happen with his love. Beautiful and simply written. I love Yeats. Such a wonderful poet and a great inspiration of mine.
