Hey guys, i was reading Richard III and was intrigued by how the play is similar to our times when it was written well over 400 years ago. I just have just two questions please.

How is Richard III relevant to today?:(

What interpretations do you discern from the play?

Any help will be much appreciated :D

Well, first of all, I guess it could be relevant in its depiction of politics. We are shown a cunning Machiavellian (sp?) politician who does whatever is needed to reach power.
Second, it also shows an atmosphere of fear that is experienced (or has been experienced) during totalitarian governments. we are shown characters who remain silent or who agree to do what the king orders, just because they are afraid of him. That's the case with Anne, Queen Elizabeth, the Scrivener, and the citizens.
Hope it helps!
