Hi I have a test on the Great Gatsby coming up and I can pick one of two essays to write on my test I need basically an outline so that I know what I'm writing on the test. These are the two possible questions, if anyone could just make me a quick outline to both of these, that would be great :)
Essay Option A - Fitzgerald believed that Americans had redefined the American Dream. Wealth, instead of being a means to an end, became an end in itself. By using symbols in his novel The Great Gatsby, Fitzgerald demonstrates that wealth is destructive. He uses the car, an American symbol of wealth, to help communicate his theme.
Essay Option B – Discuss the title of the book. In what ways is Gatsby great?
