I'm not sure I understand what you want. Do you mean you need to find one major theme in TSL that you could write an essay about?
If I'm right, I think law in TSL would be a good subject, considering that the law is constantly transgressed in this book, be it God's law or society's law, and we could alos say that each character has his own personal laws...
Think about it, it's an interesting topic.
