May he be remembered for his mastery of the novel form, his deep wit, his powerful rendering of human suffering, his myriad of unforgettable characters, and above all his unique storytelling.

But more than this, may he be read!

Happy Birthday!

If you could send him a message, what would it be?

Happy Birthday!

The message would be:
Mr. Dickens, get alive again and start writing novels like A Tale of Two Cities.

 Yes, I wish he could get alive again.

Happy Birthday C.D. I would like another novel like Great Expectations.

Two great choices. I think I'd ask for him to finish The Mystery of Edwin Drood

Or a sequel to Bleak House . . . .

Someone I'm proud to share a birthday with! I think I'd thank him for many happy hours of reading, and I'd also like to see the end to Edwin Drood. :)

Oh, I celebrated his birthday a little. If you count telling your friends and family about his birthday. Though most of my friends did'nt know who he was or didn't like his work, and it was during the school week, so I couldn't really do anything. :( But I will celebrate his birthday this weekend by going out and renting The Mystery of Charles Dickens!

Yes, please, Mr. Dickens...at least your ghost? I'd love to have dinner with you! Happy belated birthday!
