I saw one version of the Romeo and Juliet movie directed by George Cukor. Someone told me that it's the most genuine version of the novel, mostly cause the casts (the Romeo and Juliet) were both very young. I don't know any other movie version of R&J, except that one played by Leonardo ( ), So perhaps anyone who have seen the movies and some other version of R&J can tell me some new infos about it, esp compare with the original novel.

The best R&J has got to be the Zefferelli though.

Hi there! I don't know if you are still looking for resonses to your question about R & J films. I just joined the site and saw your post. For my money I've got to go with the Zefferilli Romeo & Juliet with Leonard Whiting and Olivia Hussey, 1968. I've seen Leo's and Leslie Howard's. Neither of which are as faithful to Shakespeare's play as the Zefferelli. If you're still on this site and want to discuss this further I'd love to! I'm siobankelley
