Penguin, have just reprinted this Dumas novel, after being out of print for 80 years. Set at the time of the Fronde, in the 17th century. Has anyone read it yet?

Hi nobby56,

it's definitely worth reading. It makes a nice change reading a Dumas in new translation, other than the Musketeers or CoMC, besides that, the story is good, too.

Just finished the Women's War. Found it to be the best Dumas book I have read since finishing The Coute of Monte Cristo, The Three Musketeers, and Twenty Years After. I can't understand why this book was lost for so long. There is a great trickster in this book worthy of the Count and Mordant.

I also loved this book. It takes place during the Fronde as does much of the Dartagnan Romance.
