SOOO JEALOUS!

Jay
01-08-2004, 07:27 PM
Well, here we have snow kinda two, three months a year, it depends ;). Sorry, that was mean :o. But NOT my fault ;) we do :D.

CONGRATS Fool btw, have fun, build a snowman, have a snow-ball fight, don't catch a cold ;).

Whatīs a snow day? Is it just a day with snow, or is it something Iīm missing?

Jay
01-08-2004, 08:44 PM
Good point. I think the meaning is that it snowed today?

subterranean
01-08-2004, 09:37 PM
Haven't seen snow all my entire life...but I see the sun everyday in a whole year.

Jay

Come over, I'm gonna have you all wet and cold from snow you're so not ever gonna want to see it again ;) :D:D:D.

ohh that grinches..

That's a nice invitation. But you don't happen to have any secret agenda do you? ;)

Jay
01-08-2004, 10:20 PM
Lol, what agenda? Me? I'm harmless... most of the times anyway ;)

subterranean
01-08-2004, 10:25 PM
Say, will you get stomachache if you (by accident) eat snow?

Just curious..

Jay
01-08-2004, 10:29 PM
Depends if the snow's clean, if you tasted some that's dirty, yep, the "clean" (however adjective's ok to use) is harmless. And why by accident? So what, you go out and have a little snow (did that when I was younger :D), no big deal. You can also go, break an icicle off a tree and suck it. It's all just water, cold and solid, but still water.

subterranean
01-08-2004, 10:33 PM
why by accident?

So you're saying that some people did ate snow in purpose? For what? just wanted to know how it taste?

Jay
01-08-2004, 10:44 PM
Well, some people, ok, I DO am people alright ;)... kids do that on regular basis. And the snow's sorta taste-less. It IS water...

azmuse
01-08-2004, 11:33 PM
p.s. a snow day is when people get the day off from school because of excessive white blankets on the rooftops/ground/cars outside. and, it's quite a sight to see, fire trucks going 10/15 mph with snow chains on.

AAAAWWW never had that.
I see snow averagely 1 or 2 days a year :D IF it sticks to the ground and doesn't vanish like rain.
Still haven't seen any this winter.
Unless I go to the mountains, not far from here... but I'm not bothered.

So faye, snow is not too granted at least for me :) I don't like snow that much, though I like winter. But I hate summer, I really sympathise with you. I feel sick if I think that this winter will end and in some months it'll be summer again...

I am currently sitting under three feet of snow. I like snow, but I just wish that snow was warm. I hate to be cold. In the winter you never get to be outside because its so cold, and when you are outside, you're rushing to get somewhere warm, so you can't even enjoy the beauty of the snow. It was definately bellow zero yesterday, and I have no car, and I had to walk miles along the streets of my town going into stores and begging for a job. (Why won't anyone hire me!--I just want to eat!). Basically I hate winter. If I lived somewhere warm I wouldn't even need another job, because then I wouldn't have to pay rent, because it would be warm enough I could sleep under a bridge and shower at the local YMCA. O to be a Florida bum!

LOL! Well here they keep predicting freezing temperatures but infact it's not too cold at all, just nicely bearable. But last week I was freezing... (well, I call it freezing when it's + 5° centigrades or less... hardly ever go under 0, unless it's night...)

Oh no not again... We're damn sisters. I've never been on a plane for more than 1 hour and a half (or probably less), which is from here to London... Well, I don't wish to do longer trips. I probably will never see the USA, or Australia, or Japan, unless they buld a road for me. But I do adore airports... so much to look at, many people going everywhere from everywhere, even the shops look interesting even if they're not, but they have their own atmosphere... and so on and on and on...

Well according to the tv it has snowed in practically the whole Italy in the past days, but as usual not in my city (a well known tropical island in the continental part of a mediterranean country... ). A girl at University told me it snowed yesterday in her town, some 40 km from here... Not even rain here.

They predicted snow for tonight...we'll see. It's definitely VERY cold anyway.

Well, it did snow in the end last night.... :D This morning there was barely a clue of it though, I looked through a window and thought it had rained cos everything was wet...Then opened a window on the other side of the house and saw that some roofs and some grass were slightly white... There was no trace of it a few hours later of course, but it was still very cold.

End of today's weather report :D

No but if there was a beautiful pair of breast EVERYWHERE you look, would you really be able to stay angry enough to start fights, wars, genocides? A great deal of wars through the ages have started on religeous or ethnic cleansing. If I was a German SS officer, I couldn't throw a 36DD jewish girl into an oven! If I was a crusader, I couldn't run through a 36DD muslim woman if she didn't convert to Christianity. If I was a British redcoat, I couldn't shoot a 36DD American colonist girl if she refused my company quarter. ect. We are talking about Utopia!!!

fayefaye

What? people do suck. As a race. individuals can be good. I don't see why wars are such a part of human nature.

Cassandra
02-27-2004, 11:49 AM
Wars shouldn't be, it's really immature to say the least and evil to say the worst. I mean, sometimes I have the desire to hit someone who's being really nasty but I show restraint and work other ways, why can't governments at least attempt the same.

As a race i think people are balanced because we are made up of individuals, some of whom can be bad and go to war, some of whom can be nice and protest. People just seem to focus on the negitive sometimes and forget good things. I think this is partly because some of the most corrupt people, or those most noticeably corrupt, are those in power who make bad decisions like war.

IWilKikU
02-27-2004, 08:39 PM

now can we change the subject? fill up the cups with tons of ideas? they've got enough room in them! :D

Can you only think of one thing Kik, please change the subject, at least in writing.

sorry guys. Lets talk about...

ah hell, thats the only thing worth talking about really.

I think the conversation was what would one do with 15 seconds of goddess/godhood. Though time is probably all weird for God so 15 seconds could be made to last forever. If I were God, one frivoulous thing I would want to do would be to make a completely safe, foolproof way of timetravel so I could get cool clothes and fence proper knights.

I would prevent children from suffering.

You're supposed to say the silly things too. Most people would presumably get rid of all the nasty stuff. What ridiculous thing would you do?

If people would presumably "get rid of all the nasty stuff", why doesn't the real God just do that?

Cassandra

Freewill lark? It's like in Plato where he has the guardians decide what is right for everybody save we figured if someone really did that everybody would revolt.God told us how to end at least a lot of the nasty stuff, we just don't always try and not everyone believes it.

Some of the nastier stuff are genetic defects. God could have made replication better.

Hodgkinson's is a terrible condition that should not exist.

Then there is the fact that we decay because we breathe oxygen. That could have been improved surely.

Then there are natural disasters, diseases, etc.

People do have to die somehow but there are many horrible ways that should not exist although that does not mean that we cannot learn from them. Earthquakes etc... can be very good for the earth so we need to keep natural disasters e.g. the flooding of the Nile. I don't think God likes to interfere to often if he can help it.

There seems to be an age old question of "why would God allow an innocent baby to die in a tornado, but let the rest of the family live to greive?" It seems like an inhumane situation, but think about it, it motivates us to invent precationary measures, more resistant buildings, etc.

BTW, if I were God, I would make it so that certain pets like dogs stay puppies. I mean, it's already like taking care of a child anyway, so why can't they stay cute and cuddly?

I think you were God when my dog was born Shea, she was always cute and fluffy and never grew up and learned how to behave.

My dog shrinks with time. And everybody says, no you're just getting taller. But I KNOW he's shrinking.

Have you taken to wearing heels more often recently? :)

I just read most of these posts - amd to think it all started as a discussion on snow.

BTW - high heels are great. My best party shoes have heels that are 4 inches - and I can dance in them! Practice makes perfect.

All my heels are low. I'm a little paranoid about not being safe on the ground after breaking my arm by jumping on the bed once , country dancing, playing tag and tripping over a flat rug. Forgive me for for being suspicious of heels.

I hate the sound of heels when I walk. I like to be quiet when I walk. My favorite heels are a pair of shoes that I had to have the soles repaired on and the guy who fixed them was gracious enough to use a soft rubber.

I like the sound of high heels. It makes me feels as if I had hooves instead of feet. Like a satyr.

But I like soft shoes as well and use them when I go hiking, trying to sneak up on birds.

I like the sound they make too, but I can't walk in them for too long because I feel like I'll end up a cripple - it kills my feet.

Itīs mind over matter you know - if you do not mind, it does not matter.

Apparently, the original phrase appeared in a Punch cartoon in the 19th C.

Bertrand Russell wrote how his parents used to mock philosophy and say something like "Mind? Doesn't matter. Matter? Never mind."

:-)

My version comes from mr Lift - i think he is called. A circusartist who lifts heavy objects in his piercings. The phrase was his answer to the question if it hurt alot.
