Hi Everybody,
Just to announce I'm back after all my perambulations including moving to India, travelling around, my father falling ill (he's fine now thank goodness) and my computer conking out on top of everything! What ahectic way to end the year! Anyway, I got a brand new computer as a new year gift- so it wasn't a total flop!
installed only today, so I haven't had time to catch up on forum messages or to check any PMs- sorry anyone who's PM'd me! I'll catch up in a couple of days and then BEWARE_ I'll be regularly posting again!
Oh, I DID miss this place and it's GREAT to be back!
Have a SUPER 2004, everyone!
Sindhu.:)

Hey faye, what's with the new title? Did I 'poop on your head'? lol.

sloegin
01-02-2004, 05:52 AM
I was not aiming for you.

fayefaye
01-02-2004, 06:03 AM
gee thanks. But I don't think I have any poop on my head. Besides, I washed my hair today. :D

sloegin
01-02-2004, 06:06 AM
I guess we have different definitions of 'crap'. Oh well.

fayefaye
01-02-2004, 06:09 AM
variation of the word 'spectacular' as in, I'm not really spectacular. More of an idiot. Actually, I should just change it to 'idiot' *thinking of new titles*

Do I get to suggest something? (oh this is gonna be fun)

fayefaye
01-02-2004, 06:18 AM
fine. shoot. Nothing that makes me feel like I'm about to throw up. I repeat: Nothing that makes me feel like I'm about to throw up.

sloegin

How about, 'empty toilet paper roll'.

fayefaye
01-02-2004, 06:21 AM
 I'm best described as an 'empty toilet paper roll' I'm not sure I want to hear your other suggestions....

sloegin
01-02-2004, 06:28 AM
It's a joke. It's desperation, when you've used up that last sheet, and still need more. You're looking at the little pieces of paper stuck on the roll. Things are bad, real f*cking bad. Then as you continue to stare at the empty roll--inspiration hits, time to get creative--there is more under the sink, I can use a towel it can be washed, there are tissues on the back of the toilet. And all turns out okay in the end, pun intended. It really is quite beautiful, if you think about it. lmao.

fayefaye

LOL. Sparking desperation and inspiration. That's quite good.

I've got another toilet one, if you want. I can come up with something else...point me north, captian.

fayefaye
01-02-2004, 06:36 AM
You're just going to keep coming up with toilet ideas, aren't you?

sloegin
01-02-2004, 06:39 AM
I've only got one more.

The book I'm reading at present is full of it, and I thought my mind was stuck in the bathroom.

fayefaye
01-02-2004, 06:41 AM
ok. Let's hear it. What are you reading, btw?

sloegin

DeLillo's Underworld.

'sanitary toilet-seat cover'

fayefaye
01-02-2004, 06:45 AM
explain.

sloegin

This one isn't as funny.

You want to protect yourself, to live a long and healthy life. Trying to protect yourself in the most common of acts with a little piece of paper; with hopes of living to continue a unique existance. Living in fear; that everyone else has a sinister/subtle plot to destroy you. Yet you don't want to be alone, wanting someone to share your life with.

I haven't articulated this very well. Most of all, I think they are just plain silly.

fayefaye

I like 'empty toilet roll' better. 'sanitary toilet seat cover' makes you think of disgusting public toilets where you're scared to touch anything in case you contract a disease. Maybe that's the point? maybe people are too scared and paranoid. then again, some public toilets are reeeeaaaaaally disgusting.

Have you ever seen, 'Train Spotting'?

fayefaye
01-02-2004, 07:06 AM
no..... why?

sloegin
01-02-2004, 07:08 AM
It has a 'great' toilet scene and a 'great' poop scene.

fayefaye
01-02-2004, 07:11 AM
ewwww.. then I probably don't want to see it.

sloegin
01-02-2004, 07:12 AM
It's a love story, with a twist.

fayefaye
01-02-2004, 07:14 AM
is it good?

sloegin
01-02-2004, 07:17 AM
Yes, I thought so. Oh yeah, there is a funny dog scene too.

fayefaye
01-02-2004, 07:18 AM
<doesn't want to know and not going to ask>

sloegin
01-02-2004, 07:20 AM
It isn't really sexual, but I suppose if you are a sadist, it could get you off.

fayefaye
01-02-2004, 07:26 AM
didn't ask.

sloegin
01-02-2004, 07:30 AM

Faye and sloe, there's the Trainspotting book too! I don't think the toilet scene is in the book, but the other one definitely is... (yes i did read the book and watched the film, can't say the movie impressed me though...)

*waves at sindhu* :D

I hear Trainspotting is Irvine Welsh's first novel, didn't read it though. You can take a look at the edtion posted by Amazon, where you can actually read some of the content:

For those who were interested: Trainspotting (book) was first published in 1993, but some bits of it were published in magazines since 1991 or so. Yes I looked it up, hopefully I remember correctly
