Another year has passed, so it's time to make all those arbitrary lists of what's been the best of 2003 (I just love those, even though they're totally useless).
Anyway, name which has been your favourite movie and music album of the past year, and say why.

Hmm. I always forget which movies I liked.

"Kill Bill" will work. That was an amazing action movie. Always love Tarentino's work. Unique plot, good timeframe. Creative special effects of realism. I could probably watch it over and over, which seems like a good thing. I'd have to put "Reloaded" & "Revolutions" up there as ONE movie of the Matrix. Those two back to back, are quite nice. Separate, they kinda sucked.

Best CD is probably between two. "Anti-Flag - The Terror State" was a good political anthem CD with some amazing messages I can listen to for days on end, but it is punk. But then thesre's "Between the Buried and Me - The Silent Circus" which I cannot stop listening to, just like their first album. It's amazing hardcore metal.. I've yet to see it rivaled. Simply amazing music and voice.

I can't tell which movie or album is the best in the year 2003. The Pirates of Carribean was ok, so was Kill Bill.

All Hail to the thief was OK..

*thinking hard*

I can't make up my mind about music( I usually listen to Greek music anyway...),but about the films I really loved Lord Of The Rings and Frida!

I also read LOTS of good books this year but ofcourse the two most favourite ones were the latest books of Isabel Allende and G.G. Marquez, but then again these are my favourite authors so...;)

Still canīt help feeling slightly sorry for old Charlton Heston. It might be no worse than what he did, but still. I did not like the way he was set up.

Itīs not that much carbon. Just a little bit. Could hardly be usefull for much else.

Did you see the TV series Moore did? They are probably old, since they showed them on swedish television this year.

His show was called TV nation. It was about how America is brainwashed by TV. So obviously no American broadcasting companies wanted to air it. BBC finally bought it and it has yet to appear on American television.

Since we can't delete our posts, you have to leave something in the post, so it's usually a dot (fullstop?) now. No one wanted to be cool posting a dot. It's NOT cool (what I think was your point anyway).

yeah, when Abs was posting on somthing that actually had a point, it was usually dynamite stuff.

He definately did have some pretty funny things to say... and he made some things interesting... but my GOSH... 1200 of those posts were absolutely.... boring/annoying

OMG. I can't believe it. ok, I'll bite. I'm sticking up for abdo. Of all the things to do. He really CAN get away with anything...

fool... about 1100 of those posts were good. The rest were boring/annoying/intentionally offensive.

You realise what's happened, don't you? EXACTLY what kik SAID was going to happen. Or exactly what he said abdo WANTED to happen. Two days later, here we are, talking about him.

imthefoolonthehill

that is too true. Maybe if we stop talking about him, he will come back... is it some sort of conspiracy... or did the Admin really boot him?

Nah-no way! It's such a joke. I think we should just play along with the game -like I said earlier. If we sit around for long enough and say 'wow.abs is gone. He really wasn't such an annoying guy, When he called me a retarded b8tch it wasn't irritating.. I wonder when he's coming back' then he's bound to jump back and say 'ha! got you! smarter than you fo sho' etc, etc. Then everything can go back to normal. I mean, don't you realise how sitting around talking about him is basically just playing into his hands?

Anyway, back to the best of '03.....

Hail to the Thief by Radiohead (another great album)
Straw Dogs by John Gray (at last these ideas are becoming more and more mainstream)
The Light of Day by Graham Swift (nearly everything he does is great - Last Orders was his magnum opus)
Kitchen Stories (what a brilliant film)

I think all these were 2003, could be wrong though!

Mine:
Bowling for Columbine, for making me want to watch it over and over.
Elephant, by The White Stripes. Their finest piece. Best rock I've heard lately, and there's only two of them.

If you like The White Stripes, crisaor, you might want to check out Yo La Tengo, they were a prototype for Jack and Meg White.

Thanks, Kinch, I will :). I've heard of them in the past (it's not very usual for an english speaking band to have a spanish name). I'll try to listen to some of their stuff and I'll let you know what I think.

Was Bowling for Columbine 2003? I thought it was 2002. Oh well. If it was 2003 it definately makes my list.

crisaor

Actually, Kik, you've made me doubt. It may have premiered in 2002, I'm not sure about it. I allowed myself to name it because where I live it hit the theatres in 2003 (and because I like it, LOL) :)
