anyone wanna discuss "The Age of Innocence" by Edith Wharton? there are a couple of threads in the authors section but there isn't much going on in there, so i hope it's OK to post another thread here?

it's the only book by Wharton I've read so far and I liked it quite a bit... yeah, it's a bit longish but i wouldn't call it "The Ages and Ages and Ages of Innocence"

* how did you like the ending? could there have been a different one?
* were there any surprises in the book?
* what about the title? what does it refer to?

looking forward to your contributions :)

PS: here's one of my fave quote from the book

[Newland Archer]"Do you know--I hardly remembered you?"

[Ellen Olenska] "Hardly remembered me?"

[Newland] "I mean: how shall I explain? I--it's always so. EACH
TIME YOU HAPPEN TO ME ALL OVER AGAIN."

it's soooooo true...

edit: did my thread get moved or did i post it in here after all, *absentminded witch*
