does anyone else act as though they are being watched?

It just makes life more interesting to tell the audience exactly what you think of the producer.

Yes, On any given day the average pearsons face is recorded at least 500 times. It is kinda scary. Especially since cameras steal peoples sole......

anyway... no one else pretends that people are watching them?

My spelling is horrible.

That is fun to do in a crowded shopping mall, especially if your wearing a black fedora and trenchcoat.

no... I mean... at home and everywhere you go?

Take a day and pretend that people are watching you the entire day.... it is a great way to raise your blood pressure.

Sounds fun.

I toyed with the idea of doing it, but it sounds a little too borderline schizophrenic for me.. so maybe not. Ok, I'll do it when I get bored enough. :)

It was in a newspaper, Edmonton Journal. It had something to do with hightened security due to 9/11.

The soul stealing part was a Joke.

I thought you were serious.

lol. But the cameras would really depend where you are. That's the stupid thing about statistics-they can be so arbitrary.

Whats the use? If someone did comit a catastrophic crime (such as blowing up some towers) would someone really go find the 5000/day recordings of those people, and would they really help anything if they did?

They are supposed to be psychological, if there is a fear they will get caught they wn't try it.

I think that is wishfull thinking.

Well, the cameras aren't to prevent national disasters but grocery store robberies.

Stanislaw

Possibly, but the article said there are cameras on the street.

well, fine... the cameras are to prevent traffic violations, not national disasters.

fayefaye

I thought the cameras on the street were also to catch people breaking into shops and attacking each other, etc.

Possibly, the newspaper is a bit of a rag, but its less pretentiouse than the national post. And since all of our newspapers are owned by Conrad Black, I guesse it really dosen't matter.

They probably are for crime, but saying they are to prevent terrorism makes them sound more important. lol.

not only that, it inspires panic and much shaking of the head and wondering, "what is the world coming to... dang young'ins"

Stanislaw

but not too loudly, they might be picked up on microphone... lol.
I think people are overly paranoid.

don't say that! they'll hear you and rip out your insides!

Stanislaw
12-17-2003, 09:51 PM
That would hurt. I hope they didn't hear me... than again the canadian secret service is not all that together...

I don't think here is such a thing as too much paranoia... it keeps you safe.

Anyway... why are the Russians stereotypically paranoid? Is it because of the witch-hunts (hunting non-commies) or something else?

Paranoia's stupid. I'd rather die doing something stupid than live my whole life too paranoid and afraid to do anything.

Azoic

so wait, if paranoia's stupid, and you don't want to live paranoid, then wouldn't you eventually die doing something stupid?

fayefaye
12-22-2003, 08:08 AM
I'd die doing something stupid either way.

Azoic

Well, if your gonna die, you might as well do something stupid. What does it matter at that point? If you do something stupid then you might die. Seems like it could be a downward spiral. I think I'll go do something stupid now... :D

It's great until you do something TOO stupid and publically humiliate yourself/screw yourself over, and wish you WERE dead.

Well, I would rather die doing something useful, then die doing something idotic!

but since we never know when our draft #'s coming up anyway, what's the use of planning for it?
i plan to live usefully, idiotically, and happily: chances are i'll die the same way.
