We are going to count to 10,000. :p One number per post, one number every post. Count in chronological order. If you post at the same time as someone else, you have to edit your post so it is right.

This is going to take a lot of commitment, diligence, and patience, but it should be really fun too!

Perfectly done Piglet. :) Oh, I meant accents as in the little marks you make over the letters, not spoken accent. An accent over "e" in Italian makes the difference between it meaning "is" or meaning "and." I used it both way in my little sentence and it bugged me that I couldn't differentiate (O.K., I'm perfectionistic :lol:). My last two posts were French, then Italian. That would be my 4th year of college. My dad teaches high school, and American schools, or at least the one's I've gone to, end the second week of June, with the exception of colleges and universities, which let out the last week of April or first week of May.

All my grandparents were fluent in Norwegian, my parents less so, and I am virtually clueless, but my grandma made sure I knew basics like please, thank you and my numbers. :thumbs_up

well, I am very fluent, my mother is from this neighborhood, and my father is from Norway, as am I, and I lived there a number of years ago too. I just turned in my last online Norwegian assignment for the schoolyear! yay! I have learned a handful of Spanish, (don't plan on learning any more) but I have found the pronunciation easier being bilingual from birth.

I'm sure that helps with other languages, as well as your English.

Yes, I think if a person is bilingual, it makes picking up other languages easier as well. I am fluent in English and Spanish (although Spanish is rather rusty, as I don't use it on a daily basis), plus I speak some French and Italian. Then I have a smattering of German and Norwegian. Someday I would like to focus on learning more Norwegian, but it's difficult to find anyone out here that speaks it. My parents are REALLY rusty at it! :nod: Still, where there's a will, there is a way.

My grandmother used to make potato dumplings, but never wrote a recipe down in her life.
