Does anyone have a pencil sharpener?

It’s an indescribable challenge,
To collect your conscience,
About a difficult task
It’s harsh to be confronted,
With one’s own incompetence,
When the pencil can’t print your words
The difficulty of lingual deception,
The acronymic words,
Letters like an anthill,
That decidedly voyage across your page.
Start to page the books frantically,
As words re-arrange themselves,
And the clock borders on termination.
The sweat gets in your eyes,
And spills on your paper,
So the ants get sea-sick!
Recollecting the advice,
Of removing everyone’s clothes,
But it just makes me feel nude.
Anxiety out of control!
Defenceless,
The pencil my weapon,
It’s tip has just broken…

(Well, this is what happens when exams creep up on you in the spring time, cheerio)

Wow, that's really good, Chava. In fact excellent. I got a little confused with this part:

Recollecting the advice,
Of removing everyone’s clothes,
But it just makes me feel nude.
Seems to be grammatically off. I haven't done grammer in a bit, but isn't that a dangling participle?

But I loved :

The difficulty of lingual deception,
The acronymic words,
Letters like an anthill,
That decidedly voyage across your page.

I very much enjoyed reading this poem, Chava. It really worked for me until you mentioned

The sweat gets in your eyes,
And spills on your paper,

I just didn't get that because it's never happened to me. Everything else in the poem I could relate to. I do think, however, that your next line made things better for me

So the ants get sea-sick!

because you are working your ant visual into it again.

It's funny because in the beginning you are trying to either do research or compose (or both), and then you talk about a public speaking tactic

Recollecting the advice,
Of removing everyone’s clothes,
But it just makes me feel nude.
Anxiety out of control!

Then you mention the pencil and it's as if your are in the preliminary stages again. Is that at all what you were saying or was that just my own interpretation? Thank you for the poem, Chava.

p.s. Have you taken your exams yet? :D

Okay Virgil, you got me. I've never actually learned grammar. Taught myself to read and write in my native languages. Hence i'm finding it difficult to learn the rules of French. I'm what they call a natural linguist, so learning languages isn't difficult, but i don't know any grammar. I just "learn" how things sound right, and thus make some grave mistakes upon occasion...
To be honest i haven't the foggiest what a participle is, but i'll probably remember once it is said. (Yes, it's tragic I know)

p.s. Have you taken your exams yet?
Brrr... exams on tuesday next week
caught by a sudden need for procrastination
