Hi, My english teacher has assigned me an 400-600 word essay on Great Expectations. The essay is about writing from Estella's point of view on the incident with Pip. It is on chapter 8. Would anyone please give tips or help me on how to do this. Thanks.

I am assuming you have read the novel. If not - do so immediately! Now read Chapter 8iagain. Now read it again more carefully. Now read it again and underline any salient points (related to the question). Now arrange your points/observations into some sort of order. There is the basis of your essay!

Yes i did read it. I know that Estellla thinks that he is coarse and common. She beat him on playing Beggar. It is just hard on putting all that together.

Point/Quote/Comment - you gonna have to do some graft kid! Your own ideas are much more worthwhile than other people's. Don't be scared - find a quote that makes your point, and then tell your reader how it makes that point. Easy peasy!

I am sorry on not being precise on this, but I have to rewrite the incident on Estella's POV. That makes this alot harder.

Easier! Just rewrite the incident in the first person. Imagine you are she - sounds like me you thinking to much about this - just do it! You can always go back and revise your first draft. Get weaving!
