i was wondering if the art of war and utopia would be a goood pair of books to juxtapose and write a comparative essay on for my English class. I've read neither so please give me some advice. THANKS.

I've only read selected parts from both.... although it would make for a very interesting philosophy essay, I do not beleive it would work for an English essay, where hte focus of the essay is most likely, on the literature and not philosophical content.

Therefore I would advise against it, but mainly it depends on what the focus of the essay is supposed to be. you might have to stick with novels, or at least works of fiction - which these two are not.

Actually, Utopia is a fiction. Right?

yes and no....... it's fiction in the sense that the world described does not exist...... but it's like the Communist Manifesto.... it's written as a theory not a fictional story
