So, people, we have been thinking (yeah, right) and have concluded that this forum needs a forum roleplay like dog needs fleas.

But this time it will be different.

Point of differency 1: There will be a DM - and that are we. (A DM is a person who creates the setting of the game, plays the parts of non-player-characters and says how the people or setting will react to players deeds. He/she runs the game and is almighty in the game world.)

Point of differency 2: There will be a limited number of players - 5-7 of them, though there can be less. (yes, we are sorry for all those who think that this is unfair, but we cannot DM more players)

Point of differency 3: There will be rules. So no havoc.

The Rules:

1. The DM (We) are almighty for the sake of conviniency of all and is always correct.
2. You only control your own character. You cannot control any non-player-characters (NPCs) or characters of other players. Even making the other person say something is not allowed
3. Posting shall be done in rounds – that is – when player A posts what he/she does then all the other players must have an opportunity to do something (or say that they miss that turn) and the DM to react and say how it affected things before A can do something again. The DM may post more often, of course.
4. We have been thinking whether to use dice in this game or not, and we think that in most cases, we can do without them. Still, there is a possibility that we’l have to involve them and in that case we will inform you through PM.
5. All questions and other such things should be sent through PM
6. No metagaming: that is: that what you know and what your character knows are two different things. They are known as IG (ingame) and OG (outgame) knowledge. IG and OG knowledge are kept separate.
7. There is a sort of thing called intuition. It means that you get extra information from the DM – your intuition tells you these things. How big your intuition is will be told to you by us.
8. When you attempt to do something, do not post the results. We will decide whether you succeeded. (e.g when your character tries to hit someone, we will say if you were successful)

So much about the rules. So, now a bit about the setting.
First, the setting will be a modern school. There will be horror and fantasy elements though and quite a lot of it.
The time will be mid-winter, after new-year, and to be more precise, at evening. It is already dark outside. It is sort of a school party – half of the school is there, including most of the teachers.
The school is quite an elite secondary school (grades 10-12, or ages 16-19). It doesn’t mean that one needs to pay to study there, but that there are tests when one enters in some subjects. We won’t speak much about the study system, subjects or even in which damn country that school is (ok, this may be necessary though, so let’s say, Sweden?) for that isn’t important.
Never mind your names. They don’t have to be Swedish names.
Oh, and also, there are school rings that are given to students in the beginning of their first year if they choose to order them.

The setting is: your character is at the party. The shoolhouse is quite big, it has three floors, is square shaped, and there’s a snowstorm howling out there. It is nice and warm inside though, and to get a nice feeling, most of the light have been put out and most of the illumination comes from candles. There are some famous people who have finished the school to make speeches about the importance of education and suchlike. There will be games and parties and things later but now noone does mostly nothing but wander around or speak to their friends.

We think that the system will be that if you want to participate, PM us and inform us which character you’d like to be. We will give you more information about the character then.
We propose the following chraracter outlines:

1. A teacher
2. A student, ordinary.
3. A student, with a very high intuition – understands most that is going all. Not very mentally stable.
4. A student, child of a nobleman. Wouldn’t say that (s)he is evil but (s)he has risk to it.
5. A student, member of a in-school special contra-system organization.

Would the players please be so kind and make up their names and send them to us.
We know that we should make up the names ourselves, but we dislike making up names.
Sorry.

So, some answers to some questions:

*about the turns: just forget it. We just wanted to make a system where noone would be left behind, but, well, it breaks a bit too much character freedom.
We will change that rule against a much simpler one: when you have posted, do not post again before We have posted.
*about the names: we know that it is our duty, but we just dislike it, so make them up yourself and put them in your first post here. Names should be like Firstname (Middlename) Secondname, just the sort of names that people have.

But let's get started:

You have all already come to the party. It is Saturday evening. The party hasn't officially begun yet - there is about an hour before it starts, but there are already a lot of students in here, wandering across the school and chatting.
The party's athmosphere's topic is "1001 nights" - there are big carpets hanging in many places, some student-made, but good-looking paintings in arabian style, paper flowers hanging from the ceilings on strings, some balls filled with helium, corridors, which are non-party zone, have been blocked with exotic plants.
There are some placards on the message-boards, advertising things in arabian key with a tongue-in-cheek attitude. (for example: ""Camel come home" - a touching movie for all family about a boy and his camel, in the cinema "Hallucination"")
Everything seems to be well-organized.
There is plenty of room to move around, but the main focus is put on the atrium - (imagine that the center of a place in the second floor is cut out and it makes things look a bit balcony-likeperhaps this will give you an idea how it looks like (http://www.htg.tartu.ee/imgs/tammsaare/tammsaare0003.html) )
big carpets hang there, there are tables with tablecloths in the arabian style. There are a lot of candles.
Students have their own lockers on one side of the cellar, which is well lit and looks good where you can keep your stuff.

None of you guys is in the atrium.

Bong, you are on the third floor on the side of the school that is far from the atrium in a cosy room where students rest and so on. There are couches and a low stone table, and since it is under the roof, one wall is not standing upright. There are some heavy wooden pillars and things here and there. Nobody else is in there. You just came here to rest a bit.
Miss Darcy, you are walking nervously on the second floor, also a non-party zone, through the corridrors to and fro. You're a bit worried about what can possibly happen today.
RobinHood, you are sitting under the stairs, reading a book.(what book it is - up to you) You brought a book along to the party, since the party interested you, but since there are not much people around yet, you kill time with a book. There are two places where one can be under the stairs. One is usually lighted and many people are near there, since the second messageboard is there and people often go near there. Sometimes people play guitar there or read or just talk.
This is not that place. It is the other place. There is only one class near. These stairs are not so often used as the others and people are more rarely under the stairs. At the moment there is noone there. People can go up the stairs and come down once in a while, but they do not notice you.
Nightshade, you just arrived, let your ticket be torn, and now you are outting you clothes away in your locker.
Pensive, you also just arrived and are putting your clothes away. But you don't see each other - the coatroom has two stories and your locker is on the lowest storey, while Night's is on the higher one.

We will soon put up a map of the school.

~The Social Outcast (Real Name: Oliver "Ollie" Connor Hawke) is busily reading The New York Public Library Desk Reference to himself, absorbing everything that passes beneath his eyes. He has already located every usable exit in the room, lest he find himself attacked suddenly. His lucky grappling hook hangs at his belt, which once saved his life when a bully threw him out of a third-story window, and his newest invention is struggling to burst out of the backpack he wears.~

~Drina "Dree" Knight -- Is fighting with her locker, a normal every day event, as lockers are tricky spiteful things even on the best of days, which this has not been. Finally the coat and bag are in the locker-just- her penknife is her jeans pocket, its not very dangerous or anything just a reassuring thing to have, like her steal toe boots, and she starts walking towards the exit.

Glady Flint Off is taking time in choosing her party Dress. She is trying her best to choose the best dress.

After two hours search, she finds the dress her Aunt had given her on her 13th Birthday. 13 years old Miss Flint Off is looking very nice in her Light Blue Frock.

After changing her dress, she walks towards the exit, where she see Drina Knight - her best friend.

She say "Hello" to Dree.

Robin, someone comes down the stairs. He is probably humming "When the Saints Come Marching In" in a low voice - though you can't be sure since, since he doesn't carry a tune. He seems to be a bit befuddled, since his steps sound not very orderly.

Night, you are already quite up the stairs as you hear a familiar voice saying "Hello".
By sound, it seems to be Glady Off - a tenth-grader, who, apparently, has dressed quite more fancily than you, compared to your steel toe boots and jeans , though your clothing seems more practical.

Pensive, Drina, one of the few people you enjoy being together with, seems to have put a bit less thought in her clothing than you - she is wearing boots and jeans. It seems a bit strange, but well, it is her choice. She is already on her way up to the stairs - she is about 10 metres ahead of you.

Bong, someone is coming upstairs. She opens the door and goes sitting on a couch next to you. She starts reading a book.
She has shoulderlength straight black hair, wide eyes, crooked nose and is quite good-looking. She also seems to be one of those who are asleep.

Miss Darcy, you think that you are becoming too nervous just walking to and fro. Perhaps you should get a rest before anything strange starts. There is a cosy room for resting on the third floor. Someone seems to be there, but it seems that he isn't much of a threat.

Pen, Night: there are some balloons floating at the ceiling. Helium, probably. Suddenly, one, just over your heads, near a lamp, explodes with a violent bang.

Robin:

The someone seems to be confused and drops silent for a second, and then says: "Lost? Me? I am never lost. I went to this school, when you were - a short pause - a lot younger than now so i should know. "
Then he staggers down the stairs and looks under them.

He appears to be in his early twenties. His hair is jet-black, as are his eyes, his nose is hooked and beard unshaven. He is wearing a suit and tie, but is not looking very orderly. He has a bottle in his hand - you don't see it's label but suspect that it is some spirit. It is half-empty. He looks drunk, but not hostile.

You hear quite a loud bang.

Bong, Miss Darcy, please react and post here.

((Shall I take it, then, that I don't hear the bang?))

TSO: Who are you? I don't recall seeing you around here before...do I?

Miss Darcy

Victoria ("Vic") Darcy [student with a very high intuition, slightly unstable] is pacing around the second floor, going wherever her feet take her (incidentally, back and forth, back and forth, down the corridor, back and forth) and feeling inherently depressed. Her head feels vaguely like a block of concrete, so heavy it might roll off any moment. What will happen today? Surely something dreadful.

She decides she'll wear out the carpet if she paces for much longer, so decides to board the stairs up into the third floor...

To Robin:

You heard the bang, but it was not very loud and sounded quite innocent.
The man turns his head and looks at you.
"Of course you haven't seen me here before, stupid. I finished this school before you had even thought of entering it. And now, since some idiot apparently burnt it to the ground, all the school has rebuilt and everything is damn new, so where the hell is the toilet?"

To Miss Darcy:

As you open the door to the resting place, you see that there are already people there - a boy and a girl. The girl is reading a book while the boy is just staring at the ceiling. She has shoulderlength straight black hair, wide eyes, crooked nose and is quite good-looking. She also seems to be one of those who are asleep.
The boy has short bright red hair and looks quite charming.
However, you instantly recognize that the girl is an asleep one while the boy is an awaken one.

To Bong: Someone enters the room

To Robin:
The man thanks you and staggers away. You can't understand well where he is going but he isn't bothering you any more.

To Pen and Night:
For a moment, he part of the stairs that you have to walk up yet suddenly seem longer - and we mean longer, like half a mile or so. On the other hand, the part of stairs that is below you and leads to the door is shorter. This happens only for a blink of the eye, then everything is back to normal.

Bong: Since you haven't reacted yet, we are taking over your character:

To Miss Darcy:

The boy turns his head and stares at you for a moment. Intensively.
Then he opens his mouth, pauses for a moment, as thinking what to say, and says then: "Hi! You're a bit early, aren't you. There is about half an hour, til the ball starts."
The girl stops reading, bends an edge of the page that she was reading and puts the book on the desk - you now see that it is "Faust".
"You were here before I came," she says to the lad.

~The Social Outcast begins to stroll around the room, making notes in a tape recorder about the social interactions of those around him. Once he's finished a round on this floor, he will move up to the next~
