I have not read the book The Time Machine but have seen the 2 films. I am facsinated & relieved to finally see a futuristic film that does not show mankind's destiny to be without its 'paradise'! Too often, all future ideas seem to celebrate technology, city wars, world wars, chaos, soot & steel. It was refreshing to see The Time Machine reach a world of greenery! I know it had its violence but it was not all hi-tech. Mankind MUST remember where he came from if he ever wants to go back there again - back to simpler times.
Personally, I enjoyed the 1st film with Rod Taylor & Yvette Mimieux much better than the 2nd one. The evolving of the 'shark/human' with the fin-back was a bit of a stretch.
