:wave: Who or What is your avatar? I really want to know...

Anyways, here's the game: you post a clue as to what your avatar is and someone else guesses the answer.
There's a condition though- you can't change your avatar until someone announces the answer or everyone gives up :p

I happened to find my avatar after meandering through some nostalgic photography on the Internet. This one really caught my eye, particularly the odd color usage and positioning of characters; ironically, the picture ended up as precisely 100 x 100 pixels, so I could not resist posting it. :D

I can't really see what yours is.... but taking your name and clues into concideration.... I would guess an artistic representation of Banshee, a member of Irish mythology... her name means "fairy woman" if my sources are correct.
Hearing the banshee's wail came to predict a death in the family and seeing the banshee portends one's own death..... If I believed in this, I would be quite terrified.

Bingo! :) It's an artistic representation of a Banshee, and yes, your sources are correct. It was believed that every family had a "family Banshee" that would announce the death of their members, at the beginning this was restricted to the five royal families of Ireland, but later, through marriage, spread to everyone
in the island.
What very few sources highlight, though I find it really interesting, is that banshees were not feared, as their howling and wailing announced death only of those who had lived a righteous life... they were in fact pretty much respected, kinda like the walkirias in nordic mithology... that's why I like them so much :)

Not sure why, but the picture in your profile looks like a negative of you that you started to fill in with color, and then stopped. Thats my guess and I'm sticking to it!

Images for avatars are to be (no bigger than) 100 X 100 pixels or 19.5, whichever is smaller

images for your profile are to be (no bigger than) 100 X 100 pixels or 97.7 kb, whichever is smaller

So the difference for you NightShade is your profile image is bigger than allowed for an avatar. Check your email :)

Actually that's pretty accurate. It is something you can see the stars through. Can you guess what it is? anyhow that's the first way of looking at it. The second way should be obvious even though it's not really a crow constellation.
