The gun may be relevant. The kind of gun will be a hint, but the type isn't relevant. No, It was not a rifle. No, it was not a revolver. It may be a pistol, I'm not sure what how that's defined. Let's just say it's your run of the mill handgun.

The dead guy was jogging along, turned the corner and witnessed a guy kill another person. The killer saw that the jogger witnessed the murder and went after the jogger and killed the jogger, then threw the joggers body in the water where it washed up on the beach.
