I loved Brave new world and 1984 both!!! I wondered if someone could recommend some others.

The Handmaidens Tale
Margaret Atwood

A Christian 'Taliban' rules the USA. The 'handmaiden' fights back.
Very Orwell influenced, she uses the same device as Orwell's 1984 in the last chapter.

I just read nearly half of 'Animal Farm' on my way to work.
The review at the back of the book's jacket seems correct when it says, "It is the book for everyone and Everyman, its brightness undimmed after fifty years".

hello! you sound like a lover of distopias, as am i....well, i at least love reading about them, not necessarily living them. but: you should most definatly read Animal Farm, very insightful and eerily reflective of society. other suggestions: Utopia by Thomas More; The Prince by Nicolo Machiavelli; Stranger in a Strange Land by Rober Heinlein; Ecotopia by Edward Callenbach; The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry; Herland by Charlotte Perkins Gilman

Hope that list keeps you busy! happy reading!
